What changed from the earlier version
An earlier version of this page combined the 2025 county and town elections with 2026. Limited to the 2026 cycle: State Dems → Hochul $23,143,985 (was $24,153,568); State Dems → LI candidates $120,356 (was $4,012,181, mostly the 2025 Koslow, Aloise and Scianablo races); Nassau Dems → LI candidates $143,971 (was $872,123); Nassau Dems → State Dems $71,000 (was $405,250).
How these numbers were built
- Source: NYSBOE disclosure data (data.ny.gov e9ss-239a), election year 2026, transactions dated Nov 5, 2025 – Oct 19, 2026, for 17 LI Democratic committees (Nassau and Suffolk county committees and every LI town/city committee that filed), the NYS Democratic Committee (11236) and its housekeeping account (22372), and Friends for Kathy Hochul (16851). Amended rows replace originals.
- To Hochul counts contributions, transfers and in-kind to Hochul’s committee on the party committee’s report, checked against Hochul’s receipts. None were found.
- To local candidates = transfers or contributions to a candidate’s committee plus Schedule R allocations, which is how a party splits a shared cost (a mailer, an event, staff) among the candidates it benefits. Committees’ own spending on mail, signs and staff that is not allocated to a candidate is not counted (Suffolk Democrats reported about $1.28M in total expenditures, much of it staff).
- Nassau Democrats’ $1,998.70 allocations to 22 Democrats in July 2026 are one shared cost split evenly; several of those officeholders are not on the Nov 2026 ballot. Shown as filed.
- State party support for LI candidates is limited to people confirmed as Long Island candidates. Congressional races report to the FEC; only the state-filed $1,317.50 from Shelter Island Democrats to Gallant for Congress appears here.
- Names as filed. Contributions and party support do not suggest wrongdoing. Where a figure could not be checked it is left out.
