Accuracy matters more than appearing complete. Verified corrections are made promptly and update dates are changed only when the underlying information changes.
What to include in a correction
- The exact Who Runs NY page or candidate name.
- The statement, number, photograph or link that may be wrong.
- A primary-source URL showing the correction.
- The filing date or record date when the issue concerns campaign finance.
How corrections are handled
Official records take priority. Candidate-provided corrections may be labeled as candidate-provided until an election authority or other primary record confirms them. Financial amendments replace earlier totals after the filing is reviewed.
Known limitations
Election filings can be amended, county archives can contain gaps and committee names do not always match candidate names cleanly. The site distinguishes unavailable information from zero and preserves links to the underlying records.
